TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

By booking onto a course with Bake Awake you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions. (We reserve the right to make minor changes to the content of the course and prices without notice).

 

Confirmation Of Your Workshop. 

Upon successful completion of an online order with us, you will receive confirmation of your order by email to your nominated email address.

 

What’s Included: Some snacks/meals are included in the course cost;

1. Application Requirements

You must be over 18 years of age to attend our courses, a child under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult who is also participating in the workshop. Workshops are not suitable for children under 13 years. If at any point during the workshop the tutor believes the child is causing a disruption to the class, he/she will ask both the adult and child to leave.

 

2.Health and Safety Liability 

Sensible clothing should be worn – we will not be liable for damage to your clothing. Please wear shoes with flat; non-slip soles, no open toed shoes, which do not cover your toes. We cannot let you join a course if you have inappropriate footwear. Long hair needs to be tied back. You will be given a briefing on health and safety in the kitchen prior to the course commencing. Our courses are hands on and involve heat and normal kitchen equipment. All participants are expected to listen carefully and obey instructions given. Inevitably there is a risk of accidents occurring. We expect you to take all reasonable care in the kitchen to avoid this happening. You agree that we shall be under no liability whatsoever, for loss, injury or damage to you or your property whether in respect of any neglect, act of omission by us or otherwise.       

 

If you have been or are suffering from food poisoning or an upset stomach (or have come into contact with anybody who is exhibiting these symptoms) within 48 hours of the course, we would ask that you

 

Do Not attend and contact ourselves. All open wounds must be covered, ideally with a blue plaster. If you don’t have a blue plaster, let us know on arrival and we will be happy to provide one.​

 

3. Accesiblilty: Important note: The building does not have wheelchair access or a lift and is only  accessible by steep steps up or down to the lower ground floor, where the school is situated. Therefore the school is not suitable for individuals who have limited mobility.

4. Standard of Behaviour

We expect you to behave sensibly and appropriately at all times. If for any reason we are unhappy about your behaviour you may be required to leave the premises immediately.

 

5. Special Dietary Requirements/ Allergies
We cannot adjust courses for special dietary requirements unless previously agreed. We will of course, be happy to discuss course content with you to help you understand what is involved. If you have severe allergies please let us know in advance. There may be traces of nuts or other ingredients and if you have an allergy you attend at your own risk. Where applicable, if lunch is provided, there will be a vegetarian option. We will be happy to discuss course content beforehand to allow you to make your own alternative eating arrangements if necessary. There is no reduction in fee in this instance.

 

6. Things to let us know about in advance
If you are pregnant, have any disabilities or learning difficulties or are diabetic, have epilepsy, are pregnant or have any other issue or illness you think you should tell us about please let us know in advance.

 

7. Lateness:

Our workshops are packed with as much baking as we can possibly fit into them, so starting on time is crucial. As a result, it is essential you arrive promptly for your workshop.

If you are late, please be aware that the class may have started. Wherever possible, we will allow you to join in, however if you have missed essential parts of the class, this will not be possible. A refund will not be provided in this instance.

 

8. We Provide
Utensils, knives, equipment, aprons and all ingredients are provided for all courses. Bags will also be provided to take food home in along with recipe cards.

 

9. Payment
Payment must be made in full at the time you make the booking. We do not take provisional bookings, you can only have a confirmed booking once payment is made in full.  Payment can be made via our secure payments page on our website or by bank transfer.

Privacy policy: We do not store credit card details nor do we share customer details with any 3rd parties.

10. Cancellations

General Info: We will refund fees provided you give us four weeks notice. If you cancel within 28 days of a course starting no compensation is payable. In the unlikely event we have to cancel a course (for example as a result of illness) we will endeavour to provide a suitable alternative within a reasonable period of time. Should this not be possible you will be entitled to a full refund of fees.

To request a cancellation you must provide Bake Awake with written notice via email at bake@bakeawake.co.uk. Unless you have received acknowledgement from us that we have received your request, you cannot consider your request delivered. You may only terminate the contract in the circumstances set out below:

You may request a change of course date up to 1 month before the start of the course and we will happily transfer you to another course date, subject to availability.

Bake Awake is entitled to cancel any course at any time subject to the repayment of any fees received in respect of the course or the part of the course which has been cancelled.

In the unlikely event of cancellation of a course by ourselves, we undertake to offer a suitable transfer to an alternative date or course, or a full refund (within 21 days) of any course fees, however if the workshop was paid for by gift voucher(s), we will replace the vouchers to the value.

We cannot be held liable for any third-party costs, such as travel bookings or accommodation with hotels other than our own.

 

11.Refunds:

No refund will be made if you fail to attend all or any part of a course (Bake Awake will be unable to relocate your place).

You may also request a refund up to 1 month before the start of the course you have booked. In both instances, rescheduling or refunding bookings will be subject to an administration charge of £10.

All refunds will be processed through a bank transfer to your nominated bank.

 

12.Travel insurance:

We strongly recommend travel insurance that will cover your costs in the event of you being unable to attend your course.

Travel insurance will cover you for many issues that may prevent you from attending your course such as illness, sickness of an immediate relative, travel disruption etc.

 

 

13. Gift vouchers
Refunds are not available on gift vouchers purchases. All gift vouchers are valid for 12 months and workshops need to be booked by the expiry date. Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other goods. In the exceptional case where your workshop totals less than your voucher, the balance can be moved onto another workshop or used towards a Visulisation /Relaxation session. If you are unable to make your course, you may contact us to nominate someone to take your place.

 

 

14. Acceptable usage of course content:

Recipe booklets and reference materials are provided to support students in their ongoing development as incredible bakers and are issued for personal use only. The sharing of course materials by print, press, photocopy, email, blogs, internet or any digital transfer medium is strictly prohibited without the express written permission of Bake Awake. If in doubt, please ask about what is and isn’t acceptable usage.
